5th Annual Hawthorne Holiday Stroll + Holiday Gift Guide

November 29, 2014 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM & through December
Hawthorne Boulevard

There has always been a vital relationship between the eclectic businesses on Hawthorne and the diverse community who live and work in the Hawthorne District. We celebrate this union in the summer months with the Hawthorne Street Fair, but the community sought another expression around the holiday season.

In the Fall of 2010 business leaders came together to organize and the concept of a Holiday Stroll was born. The idea was to encourage families to appreciate the diverse business district while offering a unique local shopping experience. The Holiday Stroll was embraced by the community and quickly became a welcomed winter event in Portland.

"Tis the Season to shop locally on Hawthorne and merchants are looking forward to hosting neighbors and visitors to the Fifth Annual Holiday Stroll of the Boulevard," says Cassie Ridgeway of HBBA. "Look for the Hawthorne Holiday Gift Guide projected to be out on November 26th. Store associates are preparing diverse delights to help you meet your holiday gift needs as well as provide entertainment and dining opportunities throughout the holiday season."

Saturday, Nov. 29th, Noon to 4pm,

Santa and friends will be at the Fred Meyer Deli dining area and holiday singers will be strolling the Boulevard. Businesses from State Farm at SE 51st to Jam on SE 23rd are hosting the KGW Toy Drive, collecting toys through December 15th for over 100 local organizations. Participants will have posters in the window and will be listed on the KGW website also.

2014 Sponsors included Fred Meyer; New Seasons; por-que-no? taqueria; Asylum; Fish Emergency Services; Mag-Big; Presents of Mind and of course your Business Association: HBBA!
